Message The best air fuel ratio for efficiency is 14.7:1, we run less than that for safety/heat reasons, more around 11-11.5:1. If your running an A/F of 11.5:1 safely on 100% duty cycle at say 15 psi, on 93 pump fuel and not detonating, your fine. Turn the boost up slightly, say 2 psi. On 93 fuel, and 100% duty cycle, the extra 2 psi will lean it out to say 12:1, and youll detonate. So, what can you do? Raise the octane so you wont detonate. Thats only chaging one factor. Throw ambient temperature into the mix. Throw intercooler cooling efficiency into the mix. That setup has very little, if any room for error. Like i said in my first post, it all depends on what level of safety your comfortable with.
